It’s Oompa-Loompa Time!
Come join the amazing Theatre in the Mountains (TIM) Theater troupe from August 2nd-4th and 9th-11th, 2019 as we present a community theater production for ages 8 to 88! “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka” follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars.
Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats — the fifth is a likable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory ... or suffer the consequences.
Songs include “Pure Imagination,” “The Golden Age of Chocolate,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” Oompa Loompa,” and “The Candyman.”
There are roles for both adults and children. Adult roles include Willy Wonka, the parents, and Grandpa Joe. Children’s roles include the five main children, squirrels, Oompa-Loopas, and additional kids. The minimum age for children to be in the production is 8.
Auditions will be on April 12th in the evening and April 13th & 14th in the morning and afternoon. Please prepare a one minute song or skit. Callbacks will be the following week. We are especially hoping Theatre in the Mountains Alumni join us as we are nearing our 30th year of putting on wonderful community shows. "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka" is being directed by TIM Alumnus Tiana Freiri.
