Arindam Krishna Das, Co-Director / Vocal Director Madagascar Jr.
Arindam Das is one of our Artistic Directors, Vocal Directors and Music Directors when needed. Arindam brings a wealth of theater experience and most recently collaborated with TIM with the brilliantly successful 2015 shows The Lion King, Yellow Submarine, Wonderland High, and as conductor of TIM's 2015 summer show Spamelot. Arindam LOVES kids! He has served as Musical Director for Little People Rep Theatre for 20 years. He also serves as director and musical director for various local productions. Past shows include "Godspell," "Pippin," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Hair," and "Tommy." A singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he has played many roles onstage starting at the age of four including El Gallo in "The Fantasticks" and Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof."
Jillian Toby-Cummings, Choreographer Madagascar Jr.
Jillian Toby-Cummings has directed and/or choreographed numerous productions all over the Bay Area, as well as Southern California. She received her BA in Theatre and Dance from Chapman University while fulfilling a dream and dancing in the parades at Disneyland! She was constantly supported by her mother while growing up and performing, and was lucky enough to work with her on several shows. Her mother remains her drive and inspiration.
Jillian is a TIM veteran as one of our favorite past directors, choreographers and long term Artistic Director. We welcome her back up the mountain to show our Stars to Be how to "Move It Move It!"
Kyle Fox, Co-Director Madagascar Jr., Assistant Director Winnie the Pooh Kids & Stage Manager Madagascar Jr. & Shrek
Kyle has been involved in theater (both onstage and offstage) for around twenty years. Kyle has helped with the recent TIM shows of Wonderland High, Yellow Submarine, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Lion King, and Narnia among others. Most recently he rolled on stage as President Roosevelt in Annie and before that Kyle has been seen onstage as a member of the Festival Theater Ensemble, roles have included Tybalt from Romeo and Juliet and Aramis in Further Adventures of the Three Musketeers. Kyle has extensive experience and interest in stage combat and is currently a fight captain for West Valley College. Kyle is grateful to be part of the TIM team, having his ideas listened to and opinions valued. He thanks everyone who worked together so well to help these shows shine!
Lindsey Duran, Director / Choreographer Shrek
Lindsey Duran has been working with children's theatre companies in the Santa Cruz area for the past 12 years and is another returning TIM alumnus! She has lit up our stage in the past with her work on Phantom Tollbooth(TIM/2014/Director) and The Little Mermaid (TIM/2013/Director) and we are so excited to see her work with our Shining Stars on Shrek. Other works include The Addams Family (Cabrillo Stage/2017/ Ancestor), High School Musial (All About Theatre/2017/Director), Thoroughly Modern Millie (SLV High School/2015/Director, Choreographer), 42nd Street (All About Theatre/2015/Director, Assistant Choreographer) and many more.
Meg Fischer, Vocal Director Shrek
Meg Fischer is thrilled to be vocal directing Shrek, her ninth TIM production (previously Directing You're a Good Man Charlie Brown 2016, vocal directing Narnia 2015, The Phantom Tollbooth 2014, Peter Pan 2014, Little Mermaid 2013, Willy Wonka 2012, Gretel and Hansel, 2012 and Beauty and the Beast, 2011). During the school year, Meg serves as Lead Outreach director for Peninsula Youth Theatre's "Play In a Box" program and directs and vocal directs for PYT in both their Centerstage and Stories On Stage programs.
Cheyenne Loftus, Assistant Director / Assistant Choreographer Shrek
Making her debut with Theatre in the Mountains, Cheyenne has an educational background in dance and voice with recent credits in shows such as West Side Story (All About Theatre), American Idiot (SCPA Teen Theatre), Mary Poppins (Cabrillo Stage) and Oliver (Cabrillo Stage). She has worked with Lindsey often in the past and is excited to team up once again to bring Shrek to life on our mountain stage!
Tunuviel Luv, Director Winnie the Pooh Kids
Tunuviel Luv is another TIM alumnus bringing the magic of our Rising Stars production to the Loma Prieta Forum with shows such as 101 Dalmations and Jungle Book Kids. We are excited to see Tunuviel craft her magic with Winnie the Pooh and his friends!
Lorna Kohler, Vocal Director, Winnie the Pooh Kids
Lorna Kohler MFA teaches voice, winds, guitar, piano and Orff Schulwerk at her studio here in the mountains. Ms. Kohler has been Vocal Director for the Theatre in the Mountains Rising Stars production of James and the Giant Peach, Jungle Book, Dinosaurs Before Dark and 101 Dalmatians. She loves witnessing the growth of the children as they bring the play to life and is grateful for all the adults whose time and talent makes the magic happen. In February 2018, the Santa Clara County Branch of the National League of American Pen Women honored Lorna Kohler as an Achiever in Music for Wishbone Drum, a collection of thirteen songs composed and performed by Lorna on voice, guitar, oboe, and English horn. She is currently rehearsing for three concerts and an opera with three different orchestras and playing oboe and English horn in the pit orchestra for Aptos High School production of Cinderella.
Nilla Conti, Set Designer Madagascar Jr. / Shrek
Nilla Conti is an architect who loves to design and create almost anything. She loves the theatre and the amazing freedom to imagine something that doesn't exist that it brings. The Yellow Submarine is yet another in a long line of projects with Theatre in the Mountains including Aladdin, Willy Wonka and The Wiz, The Lion King, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.
Rick Orlando, Audio Designer
Rick Orlando enjoys the unique challenges that each production presents. Rick has been involved in 12 TIM productions. In addition to running the sound system during the performances, he has been steadily upgrading the equipment used for all TIM productions to improve the audio quality of our performances. He hopes that we will eventually have an audio system capable of showcasing all of the actors vocal talents.
Mark Vaughan, Lighting Designer, Technical Guru
By day Mark works as a microwave EDA software developer, but at night and on weekends he is a lighting designer, photographer, Girl Scout leader, builder of carnival games, and dad to Elena and Megan. During his grad school years he hung and focused thousands of lighting instruments at the Cornell Center for Theatre Arts. After a twenty year hiatus from theatre technology he was recruited by Theatre in the Mountains to be their new lighting guy (designer, electrician, board-op…) and serve as the Technical Advisor on the Steering Committee. Wonderland High was his first production, and he is looking forward to illuminating our young performers in Madagascar Jr. and Shrek.
Kevin Arnold, Videographer/Show Photographer/Webmaster
Kevin Arnold is a man behind the camera and behind the scenes. He is responsible for filming and producing videos for the cast and their families to enjoy, and also has provided most of the candid photos on the Theatre in the Mountains website. A veteran of over 22 TIM productions, a past Steering Committee Chair, Production Manager, and still the TIM Webmaster, Kevin has enjoyed being part of an organization that provides an incredible opportunity for the children in our mountain community to develop confidence, self-motivation, friendships, and theatrical skills in a supportive and exciting environment.
